GoDaddy’s 2022 Sustainability Report Points to Reduced Emissions

Last month, GoDaddy launched its 2022 Sustainability Report, which pointed to a significant reduction in overall emissions by this leading global domain registrar.

GoDaddy reduced scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 35 percent from a 2019 baseline. In 2022, the company announced its intention to reduce these emissions by 50 percent by 2025. The latest Sustainability Report reveals significant progress towards meeting this goal.

“GoDaddy is committed to transparent communication about our sustainability progress, and we are proud of our efforts in 2022 to advance ESG best practices,” said GoDaddy Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary Michele Lau, in this press release. “We hope that the programs and initiatives we implement will aid global efforts to preserve our environment and empower communities.”

In addition, since 2019, all of GoDaddy’s EMEA data centers a use 100 percent renewable energy through purchasing Guarantees of Origin. GoDaddy has also become a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), demonstrating the company’s commitment to human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.
