Metrics.Earth Helps Companies Track Progress Towards United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals
In this Voices.Earth podcast interview, we are speaking with Seth Goddard, founder of Metrics.Earth, a new Salesforce application that allows companies to align bottom line revenue and risk with the globally accepted United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) is a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be achieved by 2030 for creating a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.”
In order for companies to align bottom line revenue and risk to meet the SDGs, they need the right tools to measure their efforts, and this is where Metrics.Earth comes in play.
Founded by Seth Goddard during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization provides a Salesforce application for business and civic leaders who need to measure the multiple bottom lines of stakeholder capitalism.
It also supports sustainability staff on the frontline with best-practice Objectives and Key Results methodologies, which help sales and marketing teams to have a compelling reason to connect with accounts, win new deals, and sustain long-term partnerships, prosperity and peace.
Metrics.Earth chose to use a .Earth domain because it represents what we all share in common, which is planet Earth.
“Nothing says we are all in the same boat like Earth, so from a marketing perspective, the .Earth domain really gets the point across about the seriousness and purpose of what we do,” said Seth. “It shows that we don’t just talk about sustainability, it is what we are all about, and we want corporations to be all about this too.”
