.Earth domains help manufacturers to communicate their missions to fight climate change
In order to address today’s climate crisis, every new solution must help to counter the rise of global temperatures. From investing more into the emerging CleanTech sector and even launching “space bubbles” into space, we have to leave no stone unturned in order to protect the future of our planet.
With this in mind, there are some critical changes happening in the steel production sector, which could also help to advance the ball.
Before we look at this new solution, it’s important to understand that approximately 75 percent of steel is still made in coal-fired blast furnaces, which pump large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Overall, steel production accounts for around 8 percent of global emissions.
In addition, with infrastructure enhancements being a key focus in the U.S., the global steel market is expected to grow about 30 percent by 2050. Fortunately, some of the largest steelmakers have pledged to reach net-zero emissions by this date.
To help advance the concept of net-zero emissions, “green steel” is rising to the forefront. Using HYBRIT (Hydrogen Breakthrough Ironmaking Technology), green steel is created by using electricity from renewable sources to create the clean-burning gas. With this process, hydrogen can replace fossil fuels in the overall steel production.
Viable.Earth published an article in March that highlights how green steel production can go one-step-further by using plastic waste and coffee grinds in the production process. Viable.Earth is a .Earth domain user that offers a wide-range of green industry news across the globe.
The rising green steel sector could certainly benefit from using the .Earth domain, which can enhance all branding and marketing efforts. As in many emerging industries, educating the marketplace is critical, and the .Earth domain sends a clear message about your mission to fight climate change.
