Legendary Synth-Pop Band Donates 80,000 Euros to Plastic Free Mallorca

In a major boost for environmental conservation in Mallorca, the legendary British synth-pop band Depeche Mode, together with the watch brand Hublot, is donating approximately 80,000 euros to the fight against plastic pollution in Mallorca.

This generous contribution will support the Plastic Free Mallorca project, an initiative led by the Mallorca Preservation Foundation aimed at reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable practices on the island. A key component of the project involves supporting farmers in transitioning to more eco-friendly methods.

The collaboration has been made possible thanks to the Conservation Collective, a global network of environmental foundations. The Mallorca Preservation Foundation, a member of this network, will receive significant support to advance their efforts in tackling plastic pollution.

Additionally, other beneficiaries of this collaboration include sister foundations such as Ibiza Preservation and Menorca Preservation. These organizations lead projects to eliminate plastic waste in Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, broadening the impact of this initiative across the Balearic Islands.

As Depeche Mode joins forces with environmental advocates, their influence and commitment serve as a powerful reminder of the impact that collective action can have in preserving our planet.
