With political and environmental challenges reaching a global scale, we need a clear path for charting a safer, and more prosperous and progressive future – otherwise humanity could face dire consequences.
Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity company with more than 20 years developing innovative solutions to protect infrastructure and cities, businesses and ordinary users, understands the true value of having a future vision for Earth.
That’s why with the help of futurologists, scientists and Internet users from all around the world, Kaspersky created 2050.Earth, which is an ambitious online project that provides detailed predictions about the future of our planet.
Through the 2050.Earth website, users can select a year – 2030, 2040 or 2050 – and study the predictions for different cities and countries across the globe. How will people live in 20 to 30 years? What needs to be protected and what threats will exist? What jobs will we have? What will we eat? These are the types of questions that the website addresses in very compelling and visual ways.
Along the lines of saving the planet, Kaspersky also recently launched a documentary called, ‘From Kurils With Love,’ which aims to raise awareness and help protect the fragile Kuril Islands ecosystem.
When it comes to .Earth Kaspersky chose to use the Earth domain because it plays perfectly into how our planet is vital for the future of humanity.
“In listening to your other Voices.Earth podcasts, I loved hearing what others were saying about why they chose this domain,” said Jeff Esposito, Global Head of Regional Social Media, Kaspersky. “For us, when you look at it as a future area, Earth is just a natural connotation, and .Earth is such a cool domain. 2050.Earth really stood out for us, especially with it being futuristic.”
