Tide.Earth Removing and Recycling Plastic in Our Oceans

Voices

It is now estimated that there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Recent studies have also revealed marine plastic pollution in 100 percent of marine turtles, 59 percent of whales, 36 percent of seals and 40 percent of seabird species examined.

These alarming statistics reinforce how to we need to rid our oceans of plastics before irreversible damage is done. Thankfully, Tide Ocean (Tide.Earth) is offering a cutting-edge solution that not only removes the plastic waste, but also recycles it into safe products.

In its first year of existence, more than 30 tons of ocean material have been processed with companies in Switzerland, North America and South Korea. These companies are using the Tide Ocean plastic granules for their products because they and their customers also believe in cleaner oceans, a sustainable lifestyle – and in plastic waste as a resource.

The company also found that a .Earth domain was perfect fit its brand.

“We thought that .com would not be right for this project,” said Marc. “We want to free the oceans of plastic, and a .Earth domain suits this aim perfectly. It’s great that .Earth exists, and it’s a perfect match for us.”
